Japanese barberry

Berberis thunbergii is a shrub for borders, ornamental groups and hedges. Leaf colour and size depend on the cultivar, and the branches bear thorns. Choose the cultivar for the colour you need and avoid planting too close to walkways.

Choose sun or partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Maintain moderate moisture after planting. Check potted plants more frequently, as their soil dries out faster.
