Hakonechloa macra forms low clumps of arching, cascading leaves. It suits path edges and partially shaded combinations with hostas or Japanese maples. Its fine texture adds movement without a rigid outline.

Choose partial shade and moderately moist, organic-rich soil without waterlogging. Protect the plant from intense heat and monitor moisture during dry periods.
